hanna's surgery

hanna's tonsil and adnoid surgery is OVER and we are home.. the surgery went well, but afterwards she was really swollen, so they admitted us to the hospital over night so hanna could be watched closely. they told us she had to ride in an ambulance, it's their policy (even though the hopital was accross the parking lot).. hanna was sent home (to her grandma's house) the next morning... where we stayed for a LONG week.. the house and company was great, but hanna felt HORRIBLE and wanted to be home.
before the surgery.. cute smile, happy, excited to eat popsicles for a week...
after the surgery.. wondering why her parents are so mean to put her through this.. poor girl.. can you see how swollen she is??
here is hanna getting in to the ambulance.. she was such a good sport!
after hanna got situated in the hospital and was ready for bed, i came back to thatcher for haylee's kindergarten music program the next day. haylee did awesome.. she is shy, so i am always excited when she will perform.. she knew all the actions and words and was the cutest flower there!
steven and kami were so nice to come to the program and my great friend tami was so kind to drive down with me after hanna's surgery and keep me awake..she stayed then night and then they next day we went to haylee's program, and then headed back to mesa. . it was a short trip and we appreciated all the support!
haylee w/ grandma and grandpa
hanna was so hungry because she could only have liquids at first and she kept asking for pancakes.. so we made her some ( i had to call my mom for a recipe from scratch because my mother in law did not have premade stuff)... they turned out good and hanna ate pancakes about 3 times a day!
this is what i saw when haylee, maci and i came home from church on mother's day! so sweet! haylee and wayne came back to thatcher on sunday for work and school.. hanna, maci and i stayed until the next thursday!
still at grandma's but feeling better... listening to her new princess ipod that a friend gave her after the surgery.
HOME SWEET HOME... with sisters, books, toys, dad, and her own bed!! she felt so much better when we got home!
We appreciate all the love, support and prayers... and for my inlaws letting us stay at their house! it was so fun to spend time with the friend and family in gilbert! imiss them all!

top 10 things going on in our life... in no order!

1. i know to most of you this just looks like a block wall.. but to me it looks like a way to keep rattlesnakes out of our backyard! :)

2. most everyone has heard that we are going to have a temple in the gila valley! i am so excited about this. it is awesome that once people in thatcher started attending more regularly, that we will have a temple so close!! i will always love the mesa temple and have special memories there (my endowments, wedding, etc) but the gila valley temple will be a great place to make memories for my girls!

3. my sweet little hanna will be getting her tonsils and adnoids out this thursday... it is much needed, but i'm not looking forward to it! her dr. wants us to stay in gilbert for 7 days to make sure she recovers ok.. so anyone that wants to visit, feel free!! :) and please keep hanna in your prayers!

4. yuck! horrible picture... but i had to show proof that i ran a 5k.. it's called "the best cotton pickin' race"... it was so hard and i had to walk a couple of times for just a minute, but it felt so good to finish!! i ran with my sister in law, trainer, and a friend.

5. Maci is hallarious and so much fun! she says thank you about everything! (it's a great habit to get in to!) i love to pop my kids toes (i know, i'm not very nice) but after i did that to maci she said "thank you!" love that girl!!

6. my awesome little brother, levi just got his call to Melbourne, AUSTRALIA! He is so excited and will do a great job! i will miss him tons and i'm so glad i have been here with him for the last year.. i get to see him just about every day!!

7. i straightened haylee's hair the other day and it is SO long and pretty! i love it curly, but straight is so pretty too!! she doesn't realize how lucky she is to have such great hair!!

8. our new favorite thing is to go out to my mom's house and rope thier "fake" cow and just ride horses. levi is so great with the horses and roping and it is so fun to get out there. it's good for my girls to be outside and learn to be tough! wayne is loving the roping and we are all loving the small town country life!
9. SO SWEET! i went in to the girls room the other night and this is what i found... maci loves to copy her sister and they are so good to her! i love my girlS!!
10. last month (two days after tax season was over) we drove down to mesa to go to the temple with wayne's family. everyone was there except for wayne's brother who is not married and one other married couple. it was a great experience and so fun to be together. we really miss the layton side of the family!! it was a quick, one day trip, but well worth it!!

My "Friends" list

This was on my friend Maranda's blog.. it is so fun!

When did you first meet the 1st person on your list? Amanda Layton Bingham and I were in the same ward growing up. We were in YW together and in the same high school (since there is only one here! :) ... and now I am related to her, because I married her 2nd cousin (or something like that).. She is awesome and so cute!

What do you like about the third person on your list's blog?
Amber Massey Halverson is so talented! I love to look at her blog and see what new project she has done. She is SO talented in scrapbooking and keeps her three girls looking PERFECT all the time!! I knew her back in High School also and she had (and still has) the most beautiful hair and great personality!

What do you like best about the 5th and 6th people on your list?
How fun.. these girls are both married to Wayne's first cousins..and it is so fun to be related! I could go on and on about both of them but....
AMI Bethea is such a great mom and is always saying such sweet things about her husband and boys. She is so creative (she is the one who designed my blog!) I admire her so much because she is going to nursing school and being a mom.. that is hard! She is a great friend and SO cute!
APRIL Bethea is so well rounded.. she home schools her kids and does such a great job! she has a strong testimony.. she always looks adorable.. she has a great relationship with her husband and kids... she is friendly and talented!
I love you both!

What impresses you about the 11th and 22nd people on your list?
I am related to both of these people too!
KATIE Layton is my sister in law.. we met in college and were good friends and had some crazy times. It is so great to be in the same family! I love to talk to Katie because she is so funny and we can talk about anything. She is so much fun to be around! She is always trying to better herself and do what's right! She has two adorable girls and teaches them so much! I love her!
DEANNE Palmer Wahl is my sister!! She really is the greatest person. She is the most unselfish person I know. She will do anything for anyone. She always cleans my house & give me pedicures. I've never seen a cleaner house than hers.. She is so talented and fun to be with. I never get sick of her and wish we still lived closer! I love her and her cute kiddos too!!

What is a memory you have with the 23rd person on your list?
Debbie Huish is a friend from my Mesa ward! She has a great personality! Her and a group of ladies from that ward all took me out to Olive Garden before I moved. She is a great mom and I miss being in that ward!!

spring...

a couple of weeks ago we went to EA football field and flew kites with some of our cousins.. it was perfect weather and the kids loved being outside. maci was up on the bleachers most of the time! it is so fun to be close to so much family!

when the weather warmed up.. me and the girls went out in the back yard (that is still all dirt) and had a picnic.. they loved to run in the yard away from the house (they don't make it very far).. and then race back. it's always fun to do things as a family, especially when the girls are getting along. they play like best friends sometimes.. other times not so much! :)

wayne's mom, dad, and sister (and two of her kids) came last month and we went out to my mom's to see all of her animals.. people call her house the palmer zoo. she has a miniature horse that had a colt. it is so tiny you can hold it. it is so cute! we also went for a ride in her golf cart.. we love grandma's house. it was so fun to spend time with some of wayne's family too...

i had to put this picture on here... this was at the dollar store the other day.. maci grabed some baskets and toys and started heading down the isle to see what else she wanted. it was so funny. she is already quite the shopper!! :)
